Experience the perfect blend of bush and beach with this 5-day adventure combining thrilling wildlife safari in Tsavo East National Park with relaxing days on Mombasa's pristine Indian Ocean beaches. From red elephants to turquoise waters, this journey offers the ultimate Kenya experience.
Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi, heading southeast along the Nairobi–Mombasa Highway. As the urban landscape fades into open savannah and acacia woodland, you'll arrive at Tsavo East National Park via Bachuma Gate, one of Kenya's oldest and largest parks. A game drive en route to your lodge introduces you to Tsavo's iconic red elephants, giraffes, zebras, and perhaps a pride of lions basking in the morning sun. After lunch and some rest at the lodge, you'll head out again for a late afternoon game drive to explore more of the park's wild beauty as the sun sets over the horizon. You'll settle in for the night at either Satao Camp or Ashnil Aruba Lodge.
Wake up to the sounds of the wild and venture out on an early morning game drive when the animals are most active. This is the best time to spot predators on the hunt or catch a glimpse of elusive cats returning from their nightly prowls. After breakfast back at the lodge, enjoy a leisurely break, perhaps watching wildlife from your deck or cooling off by the pool. In the afternoon, your safari continues along the Galana River, one of Tsavo's lifelines, where crocodiles and hippos patrol the waters and elephants often come to drink. You'll visit Mudanda Rock, a natural vantage point offering panoramic views and excellent wildlife sightings below. Return to your lodge for dinner and a peaceful night under the stars.
After breakfast, take a final game drive as you exit the park, with one last chance to spot wildlife along the way. By mid-morning, you'll be on the road to Mombasa, a scenic drive of approximately 3.5 hours. Upon arrival at the coast, check into your beachfront hotel — either the elegant Serena Beach Resort & Spa along Shanzu Beach or the lively Voyager Beach Resort. Spend your afternoon unwinding on the beach, dipping into the warm Indian Ocean, or enjoying a cocktail by the pool. Let the rhythm of the waves and swaying palms ease you into coastal relaxation.
This day is all yours to enjoy Mombasa's charm. After breakfast, you may choose to simply relax at your resort, indulge in a spa treatment, or soak in the sun along the white sands. For those craving adventure, optional activities include a full-day marine excursion to Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park for snorkeling or dolphin watching, or a cultural exploration of Fort Jesus, Mombasa Old Town, and Swahili street markets. Culinary enthusiasts may enjoy a seafood feast at the renowned Tamarind Restaurant, perched over the harbor. Whether you crave relaxation or exploration, the coast offers the perfect end to your safari journey.
After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy a final stroll along the beach or take a refreshing dip in the ocean before checking out. Depending on your travel plans, you'll be transferred to Moi International Airport or the SGR train station for your return to Nairobi or next destination. As you leave the coastal breeze behind, you'll carry with you unforgettable memories of Kenya's wildlife and warm Swahili hospitality — the perfect blend of bush and beach.

12 June, 2025 12.11PMOur accommodation was very romantic. The entire safari was planned very well, there was no rush or chaos, just peace, excitement and love. Abner Safaris organized a special surprise dinner for our honeymoon in the middle of the savannah, which we were amazed and surprised to see. Such an experience can only be seen in movies. Thank you very much Abner Safaris Travel Company. I highly recommend Abner Safaris. The perfect comfort and adventure.
